Project Coordinator

We currently have an opportunity open for a Project Coordinator in the Victoria area.

Job Type: Full-time

Do you see these qualities in yourself?

  • Ability to read architectural, engineering, electrical and mechanical drawings
  • General knowledge of trades relevant to commercial construction
  • Knowledge of government regulations regarding the construction industry
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Microsoft Project or equivalent workback scheduling/Gantt chart planning tools
  • A background in engineering, construction management and/or project management will be foundation to your success in this role


Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in the construction industry
  • A diploma or university degree in construction management preferred
  • Project Management Certificate preferred
  • Experience using Procore is considered an asset

Estimator

We currently have an opportunity open for an Estimator.

Job Type: Full-time


You as a
Estimator:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, clients, and project teams
  • Are aware of current marketplace conditions and trends in order to execute effective bid strategies
  • Collaborate with the estimating team on schedules, general conditions, budgets, and the selection of subcontractors
  • Assist with risk mitigation strategies and identify areas of profitability
  • Review and analyze tender and contract documentation, specifications, and drawings to identify scope and budget for estimates
  • Send bid invitations, respond to inquiries in a timely manner, and maintain communication with subcontractors throughout the tendering process
  • Prepare accurate and well-organized estimates for Stipulated Sum, Design Build, and Construction Management projects
  • Maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing
  • Assist with and conduct post bid reviews

  • Minimum 3+ years in the construction industry
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Bluebeam, and Smartbid
  • Experience with Procore cloud-based software is considered an asset but not mandatory

You as a Project Manager:

  • Lead the project from start to finish.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure all aspects of the project are understood and followed.
  • Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring that each project is managed properly.
  • Work with other team members to ensure all projects are managed properly.
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review all drawings for completeness and ensure they are accurate.
  • Review all CAD/CAM files for completeness and ensure they are accurate.
  • Review all contract documents for completeness and ensure they are understood and followed.
  • Prepare estimates for each project, review with team members for completeness, and submit to management for approval.
  • Prepare submittals for each project, review with team members for completeness, and submit to management for approval.
  • Manage timecards for each project, review with team members for completeness, and submit to management for approval.
  • Prepare invoices for each project, review with team members for completeness, and submit to management for approval.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a background in Project Management or Project Management Software (PMP) and be able to follow a project from start to finish in a timely manner while maintaining strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills (verbal & written) along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidence in their work, as well as the ability to build relationships both within Vancouver Island as well as internationally (i.e., customers, vendors, etc.). The right candidate will also possess knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Project Management software (Project Management Suite – PMS), CAD CAM software (3D Studio Max), time management & organization skills, as well as the ability to read & interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with others. This position requires that person be able to work independently as well as part of a team environment in order to deliver results efficiently & effectively meet tight deadlines.
