Carpenter / Foreperson

We currently have an opportunity open for a Carpenter / Foreperson in the Victoria area.

Job Type: Full-time


You as a Carpenter / Foreperson:

  • Work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision and promote safe work practices
  • Assist in the interpretation of plans, calculations, and adjustments with the Site Superintendent for clarification of design, project requirements, and expectations
  • Work on various sites to assist in site management and contribute to building quality projects on time and on schedule
  • Manage and work with subcontractors and provide onsite leadership
  • Have knowledge of construction practices, operation of tools, and characteristics of all types of construction material and their proper use and application
  • Experienced in interior finishing – millwork, doors, and casework
  • Experienced in concrete formwork, building envelope, and framing (preferred)
  • Work from blueprints, instructions from supervisors to do layout-measuring, marking and arranging of various construction materials and check for accuracy of works and make adjustments as required
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Construction Industry, preferably working on commercial and institutional sites
  • Construction knowledge – overall understanding of construction process
  • Red Seal Carpentry Certificate
  • Must have independent transportation and ability to travel to different sites


The following skills would be an asset:

  • Ministry certified Working at Heights Training
  • First Aid/CPR

Salary: $40-$48 per hour

We currently have an opportunity open for a Skilled Labourer in the Victoria area.

Job Type: Full-time


You as a Skilled Labourer:

  • Work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision and promote safe work practices
  • Work on various sites under the direction of the Site Superintendent
  • Have knowledge of construction practices, operation of tools, and characteristics of all types of construction material and their proper use and application
  • Hands on experience in framing, tiling, flooring, drywall, painting, trim and finish carpentry
  • Experience in concrete formwork an asset.

Calgary, AB

Site Superintendent

We currently have an opportunity open for a Site Superintendent in the Calgary area.

Job Type: Full-time


You as a Site Superintendent:

  • Are a safety leader – every moment of everyday
  • Are experienced in all aspects of commercial construction projects and provide overall construction site management and leadership
  • Manage site safety, cleanliness, quality control and drive the schedule
  • Partner with the Project Management team to communicate effectively with Trades, Owners, Architects and Engineers and deliver projects as a team leader
  • Identify any conflicts or issues with the schedule, quality of work and environmental, health and safety and work with the project team to resolve
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining all project and safety reports and documentation and track site progress
  • Coordinate and manage all trades, materials, inspections and commissioning


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of construction management experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of various trade disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineered shop drawings
  • Have a solid understanding of CCDC construction contracts and documents
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, within tight deadlines while maintaining safety and high-quality standards


The following skills would be an asset:

  • Experience working on Healthcare, Higher Education, and Government/Institutional projects is considered an asset
  • Experience using Procore and SiteDocs is considered an asset
